The best thing about Armorvue Home Exteriors is that we are professionals, and we can not only help you with something like your windows, but we can also completely replace your roof. Keep reading to find out how you can get your home fall and winter ready!

Check for drafts

The very first step we recommend everyone taking is to checking for drafty windows and doors. During the summer, while this could be a minor inconvenience, this becomes a huge problem once heating your home enters the picture. You want to make sure that you are not wasting money by having all of your heating energy leave your home as quickly as it is produced. We highly recommend replacing doors and windows if they are giving you problems, which is where we come in! We have a great number of doors and windows you can choose from, and we even install them ourselves. Don’t let another fall and winter go by with a drafty house and heating bills that are way too high.

Clean or replace gutters

Your gutters so an extremely important task of draining all of that water from your roof every single year. However, once it starts to get colder, and once the weather shifts to now, you need to be sure that no catastrophic damage is being caused by clogged gutters, or ones that simply haven’t been cleaned in a while. Clogged gutters can damage the exterior, and while we have great siding available, now is the time to help prevent any damage from occurring in the first place! The longer you continue to have issues with your gutters, the more likely you will have to replace siding, and, if it’s really bad, replace your roof.

Change filters

The filters in your home should be changed monthly, and you shouldn’t actually be waiting for fall to roll around before replacing these filters. Disposable filters are able to be vacuumed just once, but if you get foam filters, you can vacuum them consistently instead of replacing them. The filters in your home work hard to keep the temperature in your home what you want it to be. Any clogged filters will drastically change the temperature and end up costing you more money.

Test winter equipment

Now that you’ve made sure you have taken care of drafts, and saved your siding, you will want to make sure that things like your snow blower are working efficiently. You do not want to be stuck shoveling snow if you don’t have to, which means a snow blower can be a huge lifesaver. Now is the perfect time to get your snow blower serviced if necessary, and now you know that you’re ready when that first big snowstorm comes through!
